  As I was surfing the net the other night, I came across a deeply disturbing article. I was raised in Duncan and attended services here on Sundays and attending Sunday school classes. I performed in the Christmas shows and was baptized by Father Paul, back in the early 80's. While I was aware that Father Paul molested an old friend of mine and the church payed him off to the tune of millions of dollars, I was shocked to find out that the hired another pedophile to run things after Paul got the boot. Father Rapp. This dude was running the pilot program of the alternative school that was at the time called, "alternatives by choice". Not sure if they are affiliated with the alternative school now being run out of the old middle school on 9th. Either way, I was in class with this guy. He would smoke cigs on the fire escape with us. I am disgusted to know that the church was well aware of him admitting to 20 years of abusing boys when they brought him in and that he was diagnosed with having fixated ephebophilia, a sexual attraction to adolescent boys. Through the negligence more boys were harmed. It took him getting caught with 2 Duncan boys before they sent him away for 40 years! I no longer live in Duncan, having got out of there 20 years ago but WOW!! I wouldn't attend this church. I would put picket signs in the grass out front if I still lived there. To say I feel betrayed by this church would be an understatement. KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! SPEAK OUT IF YOU WERE ALSO A VICTIM OF ABUSE AT THE HANDS OF ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHRUCH!

  Great place, they may have had a bad apple in the past but couldn't ask for a better place

  Be sure to visit the chapel. It houses a blood relic of St John Paul II.
